Additional Comments

Voting for our representatives is the single most important action that makes us a democracy. Yet CT has some of the most restrictive voting laws in the nation. CT is one of only six states that does not allow in-person early voting. CT also restricts access to absentee ballots by requiring voters to qualify for them with a valid excuse. Only three states are more restrictive than CT when it comes to permissible excuses for absentee voting. CT is also one of only 19 states where felons lose their voting rights during and after incarceration, until all fines are paid off. As voting rights are under assault in many states, it is time for CT to lead in making voting more accessible to its citizens.

Democracy is on the ballot in 2022.
