Additional Comments

The Secretary of the State is one of the most important positions in government. Not only is there a role to play in ensuring that our elections are fair, accessible, and safe from cyber-attacks, but the office must also ensure transparency to Connecticut residents and streamline processes so that our businesses don’t face onerous hurdles as they go about their work. My passion for these issues will make this more than just another job on my way to something else.

I am a small business owner who has spent three decades advising and problem-solving for nonprofit organizations. I understand what it takes to grow and maintain a successful enterprise and I know that there are no shortcuts for hard work and fair dealing. As a strategy and fundraising consultant, I have devised creative solutions when other plans have failed. In my work, I have consistently built consensus and quickly cut through the politics of various stakeholders with differing priorities.

In 2020, I was elected as State Representative of the 143rd District (Norwalk, Wilton, and Westport) and named as Vice Chair of the Government Administration and Elections Committee. I introduced, sponsored, and helped pass a variety of voter-focused bills such as automatic voter registration and resolutions to advance early voting and no-excuse absentee ballot voting.

I am passionate about civic engagement, a natural leader and consensus builder with a belief that government must work for all, whether business owners, voters, consumers, or those often left behind.

Democracy is on the ballot in 2022.
