Colorado Attorney General
Do you believe that the 2020 election was secure, and do you accept the results?
Do you support Colorado’s current election system including universal mail-in ballot and voting center system, same day voter registration, and automatic voter registration and as Attorney General will you implement this system with integrity and fidelity?
In your opinion, does the Attorney General play a role in protecting Colorado’s democracy? If yes, please explain.
Since the 2020 election, mis and disinformation have become rampant across the country and here in Colorado. We believe that elected officials play an essential role in helping to combat misinformation and disinformation and in assisting with efforts to maintain constituent confidence in the election process. Will you work to mitigate and combat the spread of mis and disinformation? If yes, how?
Considering recent decisions by the United States Supreme Court, what role will you play to protect Coloradans’ rights. For example, will you defend Colorado’s state law protecting Coloradan’s right to reproductive health care/abortion?
Americans know that money has too much influence in our political system. As campaign spending has skyrocketed, candidates turn to wealthy individuals and private industry for the cash needed to run winning campaigns. This money comes with strings attached, degrading our democracy and making our politicians beholden to the wealthy rather than the voters. Colorado has some of the strongest individual campaign finance limits in the country, but we can go further by empowering small dollar donors and removing the barrier of impossibly expensive campaigns. Do you support Colorado’s current campaign finance limits?
The staggering costs of campaigns have put running for office out of reach for many ordinary people. Would you support a statewide public financing program similar to Denver’ Fair Elections Fund to help reduce the barriers to running for office and to empower small dollar donors?
