Our Questionnaires

Colorado Governor

Do you believe that the 2020 election was secure, and do you accept the results?

Do you support Colorado’s current election system including universal mail-in ballot and voting center system, same day voter registration, and automatic voter registration and as governor will you veto legislation that might threaten our system?

We have long believed that high-speed broadband internet is a requirement to participate fully in our democracy. The COVID-19 pandemic exposed how dire the need is to have affordable, accessible high-speed internet for all Coloradans. Would you support legislation that serves to help connect Coloradans to affordable broadband? Specifically, for Coloradans who live in areas without access and Coloradans who cannot afford market-rate services?

Local, independent media is a critical part of our democracy. Due to corporate consolidation, truly independent media is disappearing at a rapid pace. Would you support policies such as tax credits, direct support, or other policies that seek to support our state’s local, independent media?

In addition to affordable and accessible broadband, we believe it is critical to enact policies that will promote digital equity. Would you support policies such as public digital literacy training, robust subsidies for internet enabled devices for low-income communities or other policies to help advance digital equity in Colorado?

Since the 2020 election, mis and disinformation have become rampant across the country and here in Colorado. We believe that elected officials play an essential role in helping to combat misinformation and disinformation and in assisting with efforts to maintain constituent confidence in the election process. Will you work to mitigate and combat the spread of mis and disinformation? If yes, how?

Americans know that money has too much influence in our political system. As campaign spending has skyrocketed, candidates turn to wealthy individuals and private industry for the cash needed to run winning campaigns. This money comes with strings attached, degrading our democracy and making our politicians beholden to the wealthy rather than the voters. Colorado has some of the strongest individual campaign finance limits in the country, but we can go further by empowering small dollar donors and removing the barrier of impossibly expensive campaigns. Do you support Colorado’s current campaign finance limits?

The staggering costs of campaigns have put running for office out of reach for many ordinary people. Would you support a statewide public financing program similar to Denver’ Fair Elections Fund to help reduce the barriers to running for office and to empower small dollar donors?
