Our Questionnaires
Colorado Secretary of State
Do you believe that the 2020 election was secure, and do you accept the results?
Do you support Colorado’s current election system including universal mail-in ballot and voting center system, same day voter registration, and automatic voter registration and as Secretary of State will you implement this system with integrity and fidelity?
Colorado is considered one of the best states in the country to vote for because of our convenient voting options and we are considered among the most secure because of our reliance on paper-based ballots and the use of Risk Limiting Audits. Are there ways that you would improve Colorado’s system? If yes, please explain.
The Secretary of State oversees the registration and compliance of lobbyists and enforces Colorado’s campaign finance laws. Will you work to improve the transparency and accessibility of Colorado’s lobbyist compliance system and Colorado’s campaign finance tracking system?
Since the 2020 election, mis and disinformation have become rampant across the country and here in Colorado. We believe that elected officials play an essential role in helping to combat misinformation and disinformation and in assisting with efforts to maintain constituent confidence in the election process. Will you work to mitigate and combat the spread of mis and disinformation? If yes, how?
Americans know that money has too much influence in our political system. As campaign spending has skyrocketed, candidates turn to wealthy individuals and private industry for the cash needed to run winning campaigns. This money comes with strings attached, degrading our democracy and making our politicians beholden to the wealthy rather than the voters. Colorado has some of the strongest individual campaign finance limits in the country, but we can go further by empowering small dollar donors and removing the barrier of impossibly expensive campaigns. Do you support Colorado’s current campaign finance limits?
The staggering costs of campaigns have put running for office out of reach for many ordinary people. Would you support a statewide public financing program similar to Denver’ Fair Elections Fund to help reduce the barriers to running for office and to empower small dollar donors?
