Will you enforce the law with the highest regard to citizen’s rights and equity over private interests?
The Attorney General is our top law enforcement officer and has a duty to be unbiased and fair, while also holding accountable anyone who violates the Michigan Constitution including citizen’s rights, environmental destruction, police brutality, treaty rights, and more.
Private interests, whether they are political, businesses/corporations, or individuals with high influence have no role in persuading our government for their own benefit, especially when it harms or creates barriers for the people of the state.
Will you hold those who break election laws accountable?
It is of the utmost importance to ensure that our election laws are followed, making sure that every voter’s voice is heard, no matter the outcome. Our elections are the center of our democracy, and there have been attempts to undermine the processes set into law and in our Constitution. From tampering with ballot boxes, dis/misinformation campaigns, and more, investigating and holding anyone accountable for their part in influencing our elections will only maintain and build trust in the democratic process.
Will you investigate all threats against state election administrators?
Since the 2018 election, tensions around our elections have risen to the point where elections administrators have been threatened in many ways. Those who have made it their duty to administer our elections have committed to ensuring that our elections processes are fair and unbiased, that they follow the will of the people. Threats against our elections administrators must be taken seriously and thoroughly investigated to ensure the safety of our election workers and trust in our elections.
